SNS Insider said demand is being supported by steel pickling, oil well acidizing, water treatment needs and renewable fuel processing, with North America leading 2025 revenue and Asia Pacific projected to grow fastest.
The hydrochloric acid market was valued at USD 2.76 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach USD 5.21 billion by 2035, expanding at a CAGR of 6.03% from 2026 to 2035, SNS Insider said. The report ties growth to rising global steel production, stronger oil and gas well stimulation activity in shale formations, tighter water treatment standards and expanding use in biomass processing and biodiesel production. Synthetic grade led the market in 2025, liquid accounted for about 83.2% of share, and steel pickling represented more than 36.5% of application demand, while oil well acidizing was identified as the fastest-growing application. North America was the largest regional market in 2025 with about 35.1% of revenue, led by the U.S., while Asia Pacific is expected to post the fastest growth at nearly 6.4% through 2035.
