The Venezuela-founded buy-now-pay-later platform says it has handled more than 110 million transactions, serves over 10 million accounts and works with 40,000 merchants as it expands local credit offerings.
Cashea, a Venezuela-founded buy-now-pay-later platform launched in 2022, has completed two financing rounds totaling $100 million, one of the largest fintech fundraises in the country. The raise included a $40 million Series A in March, consisting of $20 million in debt from Architect Capital and a round led by Spice Expeditions, followed by a $60 million Series B in June led by FinSight Ventures. The funding drew participation from multiple U.S. endowments and Latin American investors. Cashea says it has processed more than 110 million transactions, serves over 10 million accounts and partners with 40,000 merchants. The company provides installment-based credit to Venezuelan consumers in a market where access to formal lending has been limited for years, and said the new capital will be used to expand credit products and support post-disaster reconstruction efforts.
