Amit Bhatia’s consortium has discussed buying about 30% of Liverpool, with the Mittal family backing the bid and Jeff Bezos reported to be in talks to participate.
Fenway Sports Group is exploring a minority stake sale in Liverpool FC rather than a full disposal, with a consortium led by Amit Bhatia discussing a provisional deal for about 30% of the Premier League club. The reported offer is £1.35 billion, implying a valuation of roughly £4.5 billion, or about $6 billion, and people familiar with the matter have said the Mittal family is backing the bid while multiple outlets reported Jeff Bezos is in talks to join the investor group and would receive equity if a deal is completed. FSG bought Liverpool in 2010 for about £300 million.
