The deal gives Altana an end-to-end AI customs brokerage workflow, adding Cervo’s entry-writing technology as the company expands among the world’s largest logistics providers.
Altana said it has acquired Cervo AI, whose agentic customs entry writer prepares submission-ready customs entries for global logistics providers, extending Altana’s platform into a full customs brokerage workflow. The company said the combined offering creates the only fully agentic solution for customs brokers, covering product classification, provenance mapping, compliance determinations and customs entry writing, including PGA filings, from unstructured transactional data. Altana said the acquisition expands a customer base that now includes 8 of the 10 largest logistics providers globally. The move targets a customs brokerage market that Altana described as roughly $45 billion and still heavily manual. Customs brokers classify goods, determine country of origin, calculate duties, assess eligibility for free-trade programs, secure permits from agencies such as the FDA and convert emails, EDI feeds and PDFs into legal filings used to clear shipments. Altana said the combined platform can help logistics providers manage and enrich master data, process five times as many entries, and continuously screen and audit their work with AI as companies face rising trade and compliance complexity.
