Anthropic has added a recorded-workflow training feature to Claude Cowork, moving beyond live screen interaction to let users teach the AI reusable skills for later execution. The new “Teach Claude a Skill” tool, launched on July 21 in Claude’s desktop app, allows users on Pro, Max, and Team plans to use a “Record a Skill” option, capture their screen activity, clicks, typing, and voice narration, and convert that process into a repeatable skill Claude can run autonomously in future sessions. Free-tier users do not have access. Pro users face a five-hour cooldown between recordings, and early user feedback indicates skill creation can be token-intensive, raising the likelihood of rate-limit friction for complex workflows. While Anthropic’s launch materials do not mention crypto or blockchain, users in crypto and Web3 have begun applying the feature to smart contract auditing and on-chain research, where repeated checks across block explorers, wallet movements, token flows, function calls, deployment parameters, and exploit databases can be time-consuming. The update is material because it supersedes earlier uncertainty over whether Claude could learn from recorded workflows: Anthropic now offers a productized screen-recording mechanism that packages demonstrated desktop tasks into reusable automation. For investors and developers, the next questions are whether usage costs, plan restrictions, or tighter rate limits constrain adoption among smaller teams.
