Summary

Ramp has expanded its business payments platform with Solana-powered stablecoin accounts that let companies hold USDC and USDT and make cross-border payments around the clock from the same finance workflow. The feature, previously introduced more broadly as part of Ramp’s stablecoin push, is built into the company’s existing approval, accounting and audit systems so businesses do not need separate exchanges, wallets or bookkeeping tools. Companies can fund payments from stablecoin balances, a U.S. dollar bank account or Ramp Checking, then send USDC or USDT to vendors and contractors in more than 140 countries or settle in more than 40 local currencies. Ramp said more than 1,000 businesses already use stablecoins to pay vendors through its platform, and that over 70% of their payment volume occurs outside traditional banking hours, underscoring demand for always-on settlement. Ramp said eligible stablecoin balances can earn rewards of up to 3.25% and described the accounts as intended for payments and treasury management rather than investment. Totalis Chief Executive Officer Pravesh Mansharamani said the product has allowed his company to keep treasury assets on-chain. The launch adds to a broader push to use stablecoins for international settlement and treasury operations, and extends Solana’s recent move into enterprise payments. Recent Solana-linked initiatives include SBI Holdings and the Solana Foundation’s Japan venture focused on regulated on-chain financial infrastructure, Shinhan Card’s stablecoin payment proof-of-concept on Solana’s testnet, and Pay.sh, a Solana-based gateway from the Solana Foundation and Google Cloud for stablecoin payments to AI services.
