Ruston, Louisiana-based bank holding company reported stronger net interest income, loan and deposit growth, improved asset quality and a wider margin for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
Century Next Financial Corporation reported net income after tax of $4.14 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, up 5.3% from $3.94 million a year earlier, as total assets rose to $916.7 million. Earnings per share were $2.24 basic and $2.20 diluted, versus $2.16 basic and $2.14 diluted in the prior-year quarter. For the first six months of 2026, net income increased 4.1% to $7.69 million, with EPS of $4.17 basic and $4.09 diluted. The company said growth was supported by higher cash, loans and deposits, while profitability benefited from stronger net interest income and a wider net interest margin. Net interest margin improved to 4.60% in the second quarter from 4.40% a year earlier. Asset quality also improved, with nonperforming assets falling to $1.38 million from $4.59 million at year-end 2025, primarily due to the sale of a $2.71 million foreclosed asset, although provision for credit losses increased because of loan growth and more classified loans.
