Irish wholesale prices posted their fastest annual increase since March 2023, driven by sharp gains in electricity and energy fuels even as the monthly index slipped for the first time in four months.
Ireland's wholesale prices rose 3.5% from a year earlier in June 2026, accelerating from 1.6% in May and reaching their highest level since March 2023. The annual increase was led by energy-related components, with electricity prices up 42.2% and energy fuels rising 24.5%. Producer prices also increased across several industrial categories, including chemicals and chemical products, non-metallic mineral products, fabricated metal products, pulp and paper, and basic metals. Food products rose 2.9%, supported by fish and fish products and other food products, while the broader food products, beverages, and tobacco category increased 2.4%. Manufactured goods overall climbed 3.5% and construction products rose 3.1%. On a monthly basis, wholesale prices fell 0.2% in June after a 0.9% increase in May, marking the first decline after three straight monthly gains.
