Hungary unemployment rate holds at 4.5% in April-June 2026

Among unemployed people, 36.7% had been seeking work for less than three months and 28.0% for 4 to 11 months, while the share searching for more than a year rose by 3.6 percentage points to 35.3%. Employment weakened over the period, with the number of employed people falling by 28 thousand from a year earlier to 4.633 million. Male employment rose by 1 thousand to 2.473 million, while female employment declined by 29 thousand to 2.160 million.
