The Uzbekistan digital ecosystem was recognized in the neobanking category, with founder and CEO Djasur Djumaev linking the ranking to adoption of Uzum Bank cards by more than 6 million users.
Uzum, described as Uzbekistan’s national digital ecosystem, has been included for the first time in CNBC and Statista’s 2026 list of the world’s top fintech companies. The company was recognized in the neobanking category, which covers digital-first financial service providers that deliver banking and similar services mainly through online channels rather than traditional branch networks. Uzum said the inclusion reflects rising user trust in its digital financial products as more people in Uzbekistan use online services for everyday payments, shopping, personal finance management and banking access. In comments included in the announcement, founder and CEO Djasur Djumaev said Uzum’s ecosystem model integrates financial and daily-life services in a single environment and has led more than 6 million users to choose Uzum Bank cards. The ranking uses Statista’s assessment methodology, combining general business performance indicators with segment-specific KPIs (key performance indicators) to measure operational performance, growth and digital maturity.
