Garmin Ltd. said it has acquired the TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic training platforms for athletes and coaches, expanding its fitness ecosystem with more customizable coaching services for endurance, strength and performance-focused users. The companies, which specialize in connecting coaches with athletes using structured, data-driven training tools, are headquartered in Louisville, Colorado. Garmin said 120 combined associates from TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic will join its global workforce, while financial terms were not disclosed. The move broadens Garmin’s reach beyond devices into coaching, workout planning and performance management software used across different stages of an athlete’s training journey.
