Link Engineering Company said its laboratory in Limburg, Germany, has been authorized by the United Kingdom’s Vehicle Certification Agency, or VCA (UK vehicle approval authority), to carry out witnessed brake emissions testing for vehicle type-approval programs. The move allows LINK to support manufacturers seeking Euro 7 compliance as the new rules introduce brake particle emissions limits for the first time. The company said the approval builds on its ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation and follows its earlier accreditation from DAkkS (German accreditation body) for brake emissions testing. LINK said the added witnessed type-approval capability broadens its offering from development testing through regulatory certification, at a time when only a limited number of organizations globally have the equipment, expertise and recognized accreditations to support such programs.
