Trading volume rose 129% to about $129 million as the new on-chain request-for-quote system enters private beta on Ethereum and aims to curb MEV and front-running by hiding key swap details.
ZAMA rose 32% on Thursday after Zama launched its Confidential RFQ (request-for-quote) swap protocol on Ethereum Mainnet, a system designed to keep trade size, direction and asset type private during on-chain swaps. The token climbed from an intraday low of around $0.04 to $0.057 before paring some gains, and was trading at $0.05522 at the time of writing. Trading volume increased 129% to approximately $129 million, while market capitalization reached about $121 million. Zama founder Rand said on X that the protocol is now in private beta on Ethereum mainnet, with a public release expected in September and multichain support planned later. Zama said the protocol uses the ERC-7984 confidential token standard and sealed-bid auctions to reduce maximal extractable value, or MEV, and front-running by encrypting sensitive order information. The platform initially supports cUSDT/cUSDC, cZAMA/cUSDC, and cSteakcUSDC/cUSDC, and Zama has said 100% of swap fees will be used to buy back and burn ZAMA tokens, with no frontend fees, as it expands a broader confidential DeFi ecosystem that recently added a Steakhouse Confidential Prime USDC vault on Morpho.
