Jensen Huang said AI demand reflects a structural computing shift and global infrastructure buildout, while Axios also reported Intel posted its fastest quarterly revenue growth in more than 15 years on AI demand.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said the current AI boom differs from a standard semiconductor upcycle and is unlikely to face a near-term downturn because it is being driven by a fundamental shift in computing and an industrial infrastructure upgrade rather than traditional consumer demand. Speaking with Axios co-founder Mike Allen on July 24, Huang said the world needs to build an “AI intelligence layer,” requiring the semiconductor industry to expand five to ten times from current levels while overall chip supply remains far below demand. Axios also reported that Intel’s second-quarter revenue rose 25% year over year, its strongest growth rate in more than 15 years, driven by AI computing demand.
