The deal adds NanoCellect’s WOLF G2 microfluidic cell sorting platform to Nova’s Solentim and bioprocessing analytics portfolio, extending support from early development through manufacturing.
Nova Biomedical said it has completed a transaction involving certain assets of NanoCellect, adding microfluidic cell sorting technology to broaden its cell line development offering for biopharmaceutical workflows. The company said NanoCellect’s WOLF G2 platform, which uses microfluidics for gentle cell selection and isolation, will complement Nova’s Solentim tools for clone generation, verification and growth analysis. Nova said the combination is designed to create a more integrated workflow spanning cell selection, single-cell isolation and clone verification, with the aim of speeding cell line development and improving clone selection outcomes. The expansion also adds to Nova’s wider bioprocessing portfolio, which includes BioProfile FLEX2 for metabolite analysis, OsmoTECH for osmolality measurement and BioProfile FAST CDV for cell counting and viability. John Luck, President of Nova Biomedical's Biopharma Business, said the addition of NanoCellect strengthens an upstream step in the portfolio and helps customers reach a successful clone more quickly while generating insights for process development, scale-up and manufacturing.
