The July 24 agreement at AAMI Park expands the automaker’s Australian sports marketing push after its partnership with Sydney FC.
GAC said it has formed a strategic partnership with Melbourne City FC, making the automaker the club’s Official Automotive Partner as it seeks to deepen its brand presence in Australia. The agreement was announced on July 24, 2026 at AAMI Park in Melbourne. Melbourne City FC, a member of City Football Group, was described as one of Australia’s leading professional football clubs with a large supporter base. GAC framed the deal as part of a broader Australian expansion strategy, building on its earlier partnership with Sydney FC and its "In Australia, For Australia" approach. The company also said it marked the rollout of its 30 millionth vehicle in 2026 since being founded in 1997, which it said underscored its manufacturing, research and development strength, and global customer recognition. Executives from both sides said the tie-up is intended to support longer-term brand engagement, community outreach and connections with supporters, while GAC said it plans to keep offering intelligent and sustainable mobility solutions through localized services and advanced technologies.
