SMALLCAP World Fund bought another 481,772 Nasdaq-listed ASST shares for about $5.52 million, extending its exposure to Strive’s combination of asset management and a large Bitcoin treasury.
Capital Group’s SMALLCAP World Fund increased its holding in Strive, Inc. by 481,772 shares, a purchase valued at about $5.52 million, lifting its total position to 2.93 million shares worth roughly $33.62 million. Strive, which trades on Nasdaq under the ticker ASST, is the publicly traded parent of Strive Asset Management and describes itself as the first asset management Bitcoin treasury company, pairing a conventional fund business with a corporate Bitcoin reserve measured against Bitcoin rather than a traditional equity benchmark. The treasury holds approximately 19,900 BTC, while the firm manages more than $2 billion across its ETF lineup, including small-cap and fixed-income funds. As of March 31, 2026, the SMALLCAP World Fund owned about 2.45 million ASST shares, or roughly 3.88% of the company, and updated data from late April showed Capital Group entities collectively held around 2.63 million shares. The latest increase points to continued institutional accumulation by a global small-cap mutual fund rather than a crypto-focused vehicle. Fidelity has also been cited among institutional backers, suggesting Strive’s dual model may be gaining acceptance beyond crypto-native investors. Investors are now watching whether Capital Group’s ownership reaches the 5% threshold that would trigger additional regulatory disclosure, whether other large mutual fund groups appear on the shareholder register, and whether Strive can deliver on its stated goal of growing Bitcoin per share faster than Bitcoin itself appreciates.
