The wholly owned AI data center unit will handle site selection, power infrastructure, commercialization and funding as SK Telecom scales large AI data center operations.
SK Telecom said it will create AI data center subsidiary SK Hyper, committing an initial KRW 330 billion and raising cumulative investment to KRW 750 billion by December 2030 while keeping full ownership. The new unit is intended to drive the development and commercialization of large-scale AI data center operations, with responsibility for site selection, power infrastructure, commercialization and external funding arrangements.
