Nvidia’s planned investment would give it about a 5% stake in Naver and support a broader AI infrastructure buildout with Brookfield in South Korea and the United States.
Naver shares rose more than 10% on July 27, 2026 after Nvidia said it plans to buy about $1 billion of newly issued Naver stock at 204,500 won a share, deepening their AI infrastructure partnership. Bernstein said Naver’s board approved a private placement of about 7.2 million common shares that would raise about 1.5 trillion won and leave Nvidia with about a 5% stake after completion, revising an earlier 4.5% figure. The deal supports expansion of Naver’s GAK Sejong AI facility to 200 megawatts by 2028 and fits into a wider gigawatt-scale AI cloud buildout backed by Brookfield Asset Management in South Korea and the United States.
