Russia’s largest lender is preparing market access and safekeeping services for digital assets, pointing to deeper institutional involvement in the country’s crypto infrastructure.
Sberbank plans to launch crypto trading and custody (secure storage of digital assets) infrastructure by Dec. 1. The move indicates the Russian bank is preparing to offer both market access and asset safekeeping, two core services needed for broader institutional participation in digital assets. If completed on that timeline, the rollout would mark a notable expansion of crypto-related financial infrastructure from one of Russia’s biggest banking groups.
