Highstar introduced a full-chain battery cell portfolio for artificial intelligence data centers at the 2026 GGII Energy Storage Industry Summit, targeting three power layers from backup near computing loads to grid-side storage. The offering covers grey-space UPS and HVDC systems, white-space BBUs, and upstream energy storage, reflecting rising demand for faster response, reliable backup, thermal control and longer lifecycle performance as AI workloads raise rack density and load volatility. For grey space, Highstar highlighted an 85Ah high-rate lithium iron phosphate cell for UPS and HVDC use and 50Ah sodium-ion cells designed for operation from -40°C to 80°C. For white-space battery backup units (on-rack backup power modules), it offers tabless cylindrical cells in 18650 and 21700 formats using LFP and high-nickel NMC chemistries. On the grid side, the system uses 314Ah lithium-ion cells and 160Ah sodium-ion cells. Highstar said the architecture is intended to simplify selection and integration for equipment suppliers, system integrators and data center operators, while supporting joint validation and application-specific development. During the summit, the company also took part in the launch of the "2026 Global AIDC Power Supply Industry Development Blue Book" and received a "Top Benchmark in AIDC Energy Storage" honor.
