Chery says global sales have topped 20 million units as LEPAS accelerates overseas NEV rollouts, launching the L6 EV in Thailand and the L8 PHEV in Indonesia.
Chery Auto said its cumulative global sales have surpassed 20 million units, a milestone that coincided with its first appearance in the 2026 Fortune China 500 as a publicly listed company at No. 87 and a No. 1 ranking among automakers in return on equity. The company also said it was named to the Kantar BrandZ Top 50 Chinese Global Brand Builders for the ninth consecutive year and ranked first in the automotive category in 2026. Against that backdrop, Chery’s LEPAS brand is stepping up its overseas new-energy vehicle push. The LEPAS L6 EV was launched in Thailand on July 24 and the LEPAS L8 PHEV went on sale in Indonesia on July 26, as part of a broader third-quarter 2026 expansion plan covering Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia, Africa and the Middle East. LEPAS said it will also introduce the L8 PHEV, L6 EV, L6 PHEV and L4 EV across those markets while relying on Chery Group’s manufacturing, components, intelligent technology and service ecosystem to localize research and development, production, sales and after-sales operations.
