Securitize adds SEC investment adviser registration after SECZ listing

Securitize is broadening its regulated U.S. platform after subsidiary Securitize Capital completed registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as an investment adviser, a step the company said responds to demand from asset managers and institutional investors seeking regulated partners for tokenized investment strategies. The move adds advisory capabilities to a business that already includes an SEC-registered broker-dealer operating an alternative trading system, an SEC-registered transfer agent and fund-administration services, giving the firm four regulated functions across the lifecycle of tokenized securities. The registration replaces Securitize Capital’s previous exempt reporting adviser status and subjects the unit to fuller disclosure, compliance, recordkeeping and examination requirements under the Investment Advisers Act. Chief executive Carlos Domingo said the new status strengthens Securitize’s ability to help institutions build and manage strategies designed for on-chain capital markets. Securitize said it has roughly $4.8 billion in tokenized assets across funds run by BlackRock, Apollo, KKR, VanEck and Hamilton Lane, among other asset managers. The development follows Securitize’s July 2, 2026 listing on the New York Stock Exchange under ticker SECZ through a merger with Cantor Equity Partners II. Shares have fallen roughly 46% from their first-day closing price since the debut. The company’s latest regulatory upgrade comes as rivals including Coinbase, Kraken, Galaxy Digital and Anchorage Digital have also built or expanded regulated advisory infrastructure tied to digital assets and tokenization.
