Turnover in 16 single-stock leveraged and inverse ETFs linked to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix fell to KRW 7.46 trillion on July 27, dropping below KRW 10 trillion for the day as stricter financial regulation loomed. Even as activity in the broader segment cooled, Samsung Asset Management's KODEX SK Hynix Single Stock Leveraged ETF recorded average daily trading value of KRW 4.5383 trillion from July 1 to July 27. Electronic Times Internet said that was about seven times the combined average daily trading value of roughly KRW 650.3 billion across South Korea's five largest virtual-asset exchanges, including Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit and Gopax, over the same period based on 18 ETF trading sessions. In Hong Kong, chipmaker-linked leveraged products also came under heavy pressure on July 29, with the CSOP 2x Long SK Hynix ETF falling 17.6% intraday to HK$31.2, nearly 85% below its peak of HK$193.65, while the CSOP 2x Long Samsung Electronics ETF dropped 9.6% to HK$55.4, nearly 78% below its peak of HK$243.1, according to Bitget market data cited by BlockBeats.
