Coda integrates with Unity IAP 5.4 to power game webstores

The tie-up lets developers activate Codapay from the Unity Dashboard and accept more than 400 payment methods across 80+ markets to expand direct-to-consumer sales beyond app stores.

Summary

Coda said its payment platform has been integrated into Unity's direct-to-consumer commerce offering in Unity IAP 5.4, allowing game developers to launch branded webstores from the Unity Dashboard and broaden revenue channels outside app stores. Through Codapay, developers can use a single integration to access more than 400 local and global payment methods across 80+ markets, while Coda also handles tax, fraud, compliance, and Merchant of Record (seller of record for payments) services. Coda Chief Executive Officer Shane Happach said the integration is designed to help studios reach more paying players, grow direct revenue, and enter new markets faster. The launch expands on a partnership Coda and Unity announced earlier this year and reflects a broader push by game publishers toward direct-to-consumer sales, where payment localization can improve conversion in card-light markets.
