Second-quarter revenue more than doubled to $1.33 billion as AI-related sales exceeded 60% of total, lifting profit and prompting third-quarter guidance above Wall Street estimates.
Teradyne reported stronger second-quarter results as artificial intelligence-related semiconductor demand boosted its chip-testing business. Revenue more than doubled year over year to $1.33 billion, while net income rose to $374.5 million, or $2.38 a share, from $78.4 million, or 49 cents a share, a year earlier. On a non-GAAP basis, the company posted earnings of $2.47 per share, beating analyst expectations, and said AI-related revenue accounted for more than 60% of total sales. Teradyne also issued third-quarter revenue and earnings guidance well above Wall Street estimates.
