Ant Group is advancing fundraising across multiple subsidiaries, with Ant Digital Technologies said to be preparing a pre-IPO round and OceanBase targeting RMB 2 billion to RMB 3 billion.
Ant Group is stepping up capital markets activity across its subsidiaries, with Ant Digital Technologies reportedly preparing a pre-IPO financing round and OceanBase pursuing a Series A raise of about RMB 2 billion to RMB 3 billion. The moves come a week after Ant International said it had completed a $1.2 billion Series A round, leaving at least three Ant Group units advancing separate fundraising processes. Reports on July 29 said Ant Digital Technologies, which began operating independently in April 2024 and set up a separate board earlier that year, is preparing a pre-IPO round as Ant Group pushes subsidiaries toward standalone listings after completing regulatory rectification. CEO Zhao Wenbiao has said the company expects to break even within the year, a milestone that could support valuation discussions ahead of any listing. The business focuses on commercializing technologies including blockchain, privacy computing, IoT and AI, and has partnered with more than 300 collaborators serving over 30,000 enterprise clients globally. At the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Ant Group CEO Han Xinyi outlined an "Agent Super Factory" vision for Ant Digital Technologies, signaling the business direction the unit is prioritizing. OceanBase, Ant Group's independently operated database company, is also in fundraising discussions, with proceeds reported to be earmarked for strengthening its standalone operations and expanding investment in AI data platforms and overseas markets. OceanBase has previously said it is focused on AI-era data technology and product innovation while keeping communication channels open with capital markets, without confirming the reported fundraising size or timing. The financing activity suggests Ant Group is trying to unlock value through separate capital market paths for its businesses as Chinese technology companies accelerate overseas expansion and global technology stocks recover. Investors are now watching Ant Digital Technologies' valuation and potential listing venue, as well as whether OceanBase can turn investor talks into a completed round.
