Bitcoin rebounded from around $64,000 to above $65,000 as a Microsoft-led U.S. equity rally improved risk appetite, even as extreme fear, liquidations and geopolitical tensions kept caution elevated.
Bitcoin rose above $65,000 after previously holding near $64,000, recovering alongside a broader risk-on move in U.S. stocks led by Microsoft and other technology shares. The overall crypto market capitalization increased 1.04% to $2.19 trillion, while nearly $200 million in positions were liquidated over 24 hours, with short sellers taking the larger losses, according to Coinglass. U.S. equities also advanced, with the Dow up 613.92 points to 52,208.06, the S&P 500 rising 1.66% to 7,437.63, the Nasdaq Composite gaining 2.78% to 25,122.18 and the Nasdaq 100 climbing 3.4%. Despite the rebound, the Crypto Fear & Greed Index remained in Extreme Fear, and analysts said Bitcoin would need a confirmed move above $66,500 to put $74,000 in play, while Ethereum faced resistance near $1,975.
