Summary

JPX Research Institute and QUICK said on the 29th they have launched the JPX-QUICK Crypto Asset Index Series, a yen-denominated benchmark suite for Japan's spot crypto market that includes the renamed JPX-QUICK Bitcoin Index and the new JPX-QUICK Ethereum Index. The lineup now consists of four indices in total, with standard and real-time versions for both Bitcoin and Ethereum. The indices use executed yen-denominated spot trade data from bitFlyer, Coincheck, GMO Coin and bitbank, and are distributed through QUICK's website and financial information terminals. The standard index is calculated every five minutes using a volume-weighted average of transactions over the preceding 60 minutes, while the real-time version updates every 15 seconds based on a simple average of executed prices over the preceding 15 seconds. The companies said the series is intended to provide reliable public benchmarks for financial institutions, corporate users and investors, with potential use in products such as ETFs and investment trusts as Japan builds out digital-asset market infrastructure.
