Sweden’s June 2026 GDP fell 0.2% month on month after May’s 0.9% gain, while annual growth slowed to 2.4% from a downwardly revised 3.8% but remained above year-earlier levels.
Sweden’s economy contracted 0.2% month on month in June 2026, reversing a 0.9% increase in May and marking the first monthly decline in four months. Statistics Sweden economist Mattias Kain Wyatt said the June pullback followed three months of continuous growth, while stronger readings in prior months meant activity in both June and the second quarter remained noticeably above the corresponding periods a year earlier. On an annual basis, GDP grew 2.4% in June, slowing from a downwardly revised 3.8% expansion in May.
