Funkled partners with Focus to add planning tools and launch 30-day content push

The UK financial education platform is rolling out 30 days of daily lessons and 15 podcast episodes alongside free Focus-powered budgeting, debt and investment planning tools now live on the site.

Summary

Funkled has partnered with Focus to combine free financial education with planning technology already used by UK advice firms, banks and building societies. The tools are now embedded in Funkled’s learning journeys, so modules on subjects including investing, borrowing and budgeting end with linked tools such as savings or investment goal planners, cost-of-debt analysis and household budget builders. The rollout is live now and comes with Funkled’s biggest content expansion so far. From this week, the platform is releasing a new short lesson every day for 30 days and a new podcast episode daily for 15 days, covering topics from compound interest to navigating money after bereavement or divorce. Collaborators named include Oxford Risk, Invesco, Zurich and APS Legal, with content built around life stages including young adults starting out, self-employed workers, the “sandwich generation” and people going through divorce or separation later in life. Funkled founder Dan Russell said the initiative is aimed at closing a financial education gap in the UK, citing figures that 8.7% of UK adults take financial advice, 17% hold a stocks and shares ISA, eight million working people have no pension, and seven million do not shop around for a better insurance deal. Focus said combining education with practical tools helps users leave with a plan rather than just information. Funkled says it is free to use, funded by content partners rather than product sales, and does not provide regulated financial advice, instead directing users who want personal recommendations to an appropriate regulated adviser or financial coach.
