The stability-focused XRPL upgrade coincided with XRP outperforming other top cryptocurrencies as traders also tracked rising funding rates, RLUSD growth and new exchange access in Asia.
The XRP Ledger's fixCleanup3_2_0 amendment is now live on mainnet with 85.71% validator support, making XRPL 3.2.0 the minimum compatible software version for validators and node operators. The update is focused on reliability rather than major new end-user features, addressing precision and rounding issues in Single Asset Vaults and the Lending Protocol, strengthening the Permissioned DEX and permissioned domains, and improving support for Multi-Purpose Tokens. Hussein Zangana, also known as Vet, said operators running older versions must upgrade to avoid becoming amendment-blocked. The activation coincided with XRP posting the strongest gains among the top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization on July 30 after the Federal Reserve held interest rates steady. XRP rose about 3% from an intraday low near $1.05 to reclaim the $1.08 level. Derivatives data from Coinglass showed XRP funding rates climbing to about 0.009%, the highest in roughly two months since May 30, a sign that leveraged traders were paying more to hold bullish long positions. Broader ecosystem developments also supported sentiment. Chandler Fang said AI-related activity on XRPL is expanding, with more than one million AI agent transactions processed through the t54 x402 payment facilitator compatible with XRPL. Ripple's RLUSD stablecoin also grew by about $200 million month over month, reaching roughly $1.6 billion as of July 29 from around $1.4 billion at the end of June, according to CoinMarketCap data. Upbit listed RLUSD pairs against KRW, BTC and USDT with XRP Ledger deposits and withdrawals, while OSL launched XRP trading for retail investors in Hong Kong. The listings follow Ripple's launch of Ripple Mint, an API-based service for institutional RLUSD issuance, redemption and management, reinforcing the view that XRPL upgrades are being matched by expanding institutional infrastructure and market access.
