Turkey’s benchmark BIST 100 index ended Thursday lower, closing at 13,292.93 points, down 1.55% from the previous close. The index opened at 14,150.52 and lost 208.62 points from Wednesday’s close, trading between an intraday low of 13,223.69 and a high of 13,489.13. Market breadth remained negative, with 63 stocks declining and 36 advancing. The total market value of the BIST 100 stood at about 12.86 trillion Turkish liras ($271.9 billion), while daily trading volume was 162 billion liras ($3.42 billion). In broader market indicators, gold was priced at $4,096.10 an ounce and Brent crude futures traded at $89.75 a barrel as of 1530GMT. The Turkish lira was quoted at 47.4150 against the U.S. dollar, 54.7280 against the euro and 63.8780 against the British pound.
