Pi Network sets August 11 deadline for Protocol 26 Mainnet node upgrade

Pi Network has begun rolling out Protocol 26 for Mainnet nodes and requires operators to update by August 11 to stay connected to the network. The Pi Core Team said the release is the ninth protocol upgrade completed in recent months and one of the last two steps before Protocol 27, which is expected to finish the current series of network improvements and bring Mainnet in line with the network’s latest protocol features and functionality. The team said the migration should usually take less than five minutes and warned operators not to update all of their nodes at the same time. PI rose 6.66% to $0.0822 over 24 hours after the announcement, outperforming the broader crypto market’s 0.71% gain, though the token remains down 11.7% over seven days and 29% over 30 days. Earlier Pi product and protocol updates also triggered only brief rallies, while PiScan data showing about 4.25 million PI unlocking daily and roughly 1.71 billion due to enter circulation over 12 months points to continuing supply pressure.
