Second-quarter revenue rose 5.9% and operating profit edged up 0.7%, while Samsung SDS detailed plans to expand data centers, GPUs, AI partnerships, robotics and digital asset infrastructure through 2031.
Samsung SDS reported second-quarter 2026 consolidated revenue of ₩3.72 trillion and operating profit of ₩231.8 billion, as cloud growth and steady logistics demand supported results while the company outlined an ambitious AI infrastructure expansion plan. Revenue rose 5.9% from a year earlier, operating profit increased 0.7%, and net profit climbed 4.6% to ₩184.1 billion. External cloud revenue, meaning sales outside Samsung Group affiliates, surged 75%, while cloud business revenue rose 17% to ₩779.4 billion and logistics revenue increased 6.6% to ₩1.96 trillion. On its July 30 earnings call, CEO Lee Jun-hee said Samsung SDS aims to expand AI infrastructure to more than 800MW by 2031 from 110MW currently, with capacity set to reach 230MW by 2029 through direct investment, equity-backed projects and DBO data center contracts. The company also cited strong demand for Nvidia B300 GPUs, partnerships with Anthropic, OpenAI and Google Cloud, growing financial-sector AI projects, and investments tied to robot orchestration and digital asset infrastructure.
