Starlight launches first 58 homes at Dartford build-to-rent community

The first phase of The Parklands in Kent opens as Starlight expands its UK residential platform, which includes about 4,000 homes and £1.1 billion in assets under management.

Summary

Starlight Investments has completed and launched the first phase of The Parklands, a master-planned build-to-rent community in Dartford, Kent, bringing 58 new rental homes to market across two residential buildings. The initial homes include studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts, and the wider scheme is planned to total 231 suites across seven buildings. The company said the project is aimed at meeting rising rental housing demand in a well-connected part of London's commuter belt while widening local housing choice. Future phases are set to add amenities including a residents' lounge, fitness centre, yoga studio, co-working space and a 2,000-square-foot rooftop terrace, while the completed community will include 163 resident parking spaces. Jonnie Milich, Head of UK Residential, Starlight Investments, said the first phase reflects the firm's commitment to delivering high-quality rental housing in markets where demand is growing and described The Parklands as an important addition to Dartford's housing landscape. The development is near Dartford Station and beside Central Park, giving residents access to rail and road links into Central London and nearby green space. The launch marks another step in Starlight's UK expansion. Its UK residential platform comprises approximately 4,000 homes and £1.1 billion in assets under management (AUM, total assets managed on behalf of investors). Globally, the Toronto-based firm said it owns, develops or manages more than 70,000 multi-residential suites and over 7 million square feet of commercial property space, with CAD $30 billion AUM.
