Summary

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has been named as a speaker for the 2026 Wyoming Blockchain Symposium, an invitation-only event scheduled for Aug. 17-20 in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. SALT said Hoskinson, listed as Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Input Output Group, will join a lineup that includes SEC Chairman Paul Atkins, Michael S. Selig, the 16th Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, John Hoffman of Ondo Finance, Anthony Scaramucci, David Ripley of Kraken/Payward, Caitlin Long of Custodia Bank, Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and Stellar Foundation CEO Denelle Dixon. The third annual symposium, hosted by SALT and Kraken at the Four Seasons Resort in Jackson Hole, is described as a gathering of 500 investors, builders and policymakers focused on digital-asset regulation and institutional adoption. Organizers say the event aims to encourage more forward-thinking regulation, support a more decentralized global financial system and deepen institutional understanding of blockchain infrastructure. The speaker announcement comes as Cardano marks the sixth anniversary of staking following the July 29, 2020 Shelley upgrade, which introduced stake pools and delegation. The network is also shifting attention to the Dijkstra era after the van Rossem hard fork. Intersect said the initial Dijkstra rollout is planned in three phases covering Nested Transactions, Linear Leios and Peras, with the first hard fork scope expected to be frozen by July 31 after presentation to the Technical Steering Committee on July 29. That scope is expected to include CIP-50, while CIP-23 is likely to move into the 2026 roadmap. The Haskell node team is targeting Mainnet delivery of Phase 1 and Phase 2 by the end of 2026, with constitutional updates for the Dijkstra era expected after hard fork enactment and community discussion set to begin as early as practicable.

Terms & Concepts
  • stake pools: Groups that combine delegated holdings to help participate in network validation and staking rewards.
  • Nested Transactions: A planned Cardano feature in the Dijkstra rollout intended as part of the network’s next development phase.
  • hard fork: A network upgrade that changes blockchain rules and requires participants to adopt the new version.
