The U.S. Gulf Coast asset has completed system integration testing and is set for its first subsea umbilical project, with KOIL targeting completion in late September 2026.
KOIL Energy Solutions said it has successfully commissioned a newly acquired mobile barge-based carousel on the U.S. Gulf Coast, marking a step forward in the company's rental equipment and services buildout. The asset, bought earlier this year, was disassembled, transported to the Gulf Coast and reassembled before completing system integration testing for subsea umbilical handling, spooling and storage operations. The company said the modular carousel is ready for deployment on its first project, which is expected to be completed in late September 2026. KOIL also said its existing carousel has restarted successfully following a capacity increase modification, giving the company expanded capability across its carousel fleet. The new unit is designed for rapid mobilization and redeployment, allowing KOIL to support subsea projects in the Gulf of America and international markets on short notice. KOIL said both the new and existing carousels will be used on a previously announced major subsea umbilical handling, spooling and storage project, after which the company plans to market the mobile asset for additional work as part of its KOIL 2030 strategy.
