DCHFA appoints Steve Clinton and Ed Fisher, reappoints Carri Robinson

The Washington, D.C. housing finance agency said the board changes add housing finance, development and government affairs experience as it continues funding affordable housing initiatives.

The District of Columbia Housing Finance Agency said it appointed Steve Clinton and Ed Fisher to its Board of Directors and reappointed Carri Robinson, a move the agency said strengthens leadership continuity as it works to expand affordable housing in Washington, D.C. Executive Director/CEO Christopher E. Donald said Clinton and Fisher bring leadership, expertise and long-standing ties to the District, while Robinson’s reappointment supports governance continuity and the agency’s mission. Clinton joins as a retired housing finance executive with more than 40 years of experience in capital markets and public policy. More than 25 years of his career were spent at Freddie Mac, where he served as Senior Vice President in roles spanning capital markets, credit pricing, operations and conservatorship management. He later spent two years at the U.S. Department of the Treasury as a Housing Policy Advisor and also served as DCHFA’s Chief Financial Officer for the final five years of his career, overseeing annual audits, financial reporting and fiscal management. Fisher is President and Founder of The Fisher Group, a Washington, D.C.-based government affairs and strategic advisory firm serving clients in real estate development, public utilities, emerging technologies, healthcare and higher education. He most recently served as Assistant Vice President for Community & Government Affairs at American University and previously led the St. Elizabeths East Redevelopment, a major public real estate project in Washington, D.C. with projected investments exceeding $2 billion. His background also includes senior roles with the Council of the District of Columbia, Director of Community Affairs for CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, prior service as a Commissioner for the District of Columbia Housing Authority, co-founding the Man Up! Leadership Bootcamp and The Lifting As We Climb Foundation, and membership in the Urban Land Institute. DCHFA also said Robinson, Managing Principal and Founder of Bright Horizon Ventures, LLC, will continue on the board. Board Chair Heather Wellington said the combination of housing, finance, economic development, government affairs and community engagement experience will help guide the agency as it addresses the District’s affordable housing needs. DCHFA described itself as an S&P AA-rated issuer serving Washington, D.C. residents for 47 years, with a mission focused on advancing the District’s housing priorities through affordable housing investment, neighborhood development, rental housing finance and homeownership opportunities.
