Japanese earnings updates highlighted Mitsubishi Electric's record April-June results and raised FY2027 outlook, with stronger factory automation demand tied to AI and semiconductors helping lift guidance.
Mitsubishi Electric reported record first-quarter fiscal 2027 results, with revenue rising to ¥1,497.1 billion from ¥1,312.8 billion a year earlier and adjusted operating profit increasing to ¥144.3 billion from ¥93.8 billion. Profit before income taxes climbed to ¥157.0 billion from ¥124.0 billion, while net profit attributable to Mitsubishi Electric Corp. stockholders rose to ¥109.8 billion from ¥90.9 billion. The adjusted operating profit margin improved to 9.6% from 7.1%. The company said revenue increased year over year across all segments, led mainly by the Industry & Mobility and Life segments. Profit growth was driven primarily by a larger business scale in factory automation systems, defense & space systems, and air conditioning systems & home products, alongside price improvements in mass production businesses and the effect of a weaker yen. Mitsubishi Electric raised its fiscal 2027 outlook to revenue of ¥6,270.0 billion and adjusted operating profit of ¥620.0 billion, and a broader Tokyo earnings roundup also noted that the company lifted its full-year net profit forecast by 4%, adding to its record-profit outlook.
