U.S. semiconductor, optical-communication and memory stocks broadly extended the previous session’s gains after Friday’s open on July 31, with several names posting sharper advances than indicated in premarket trading. Applied Optoelectronics rose 13.38%, Astera Labs gained 13.25%, Coherent added 11.91%, Marvell climbed 8.54%, SK Hynix advanced 8.09%, Intel rose 6.90%, Sandisk gained 8.49%, Western Digital added 7.84%, Seagate advanced 7.63% and Micron rose 5.91%, according to BIT market data. The moves highlighted continued strength across chip-related and data-infrastructure shares as momentum carried from premarket trading into the regular U.S. session.
