Everbloom makes seven-figure investment as Stromedy creator launches horror short Simon Says

Kyle Godfrey’s independently produced film debuts on YouTube and Tubi as the investor backs Stromedy and Prime Capitol Entertainment’s push into larger film and television projects.

Summary

Everbloom said it has made a seven-figure investment in Stromedy and Prime Capitol Entertainment as Canadian filmmaker and YouTube creator Kyle Godfrey releases Simon Says, a psychological horror short built around a recurring character from the Stromedy Universe. The independently produced film is now streaming on YouTube and Tubi and follows a group of friends trapped in a deadly game run by a clown named Simon, who issues commands that count only when prefaced with “Simon says.” Godfrey, who co-directed the short with Jake Dufner, shot the project over four days in Toronto. He said the film was designed to stand on its own as a cinematic horror project rather than simply extend the YouTube series. The release doubles as a proof of concept for a potential feature film and as the first entry in a broader film slate. Stromedy has more than 14 million subscribers, while Godfrey’s content has generated more than 3.5 billion views and 400 million watch hours across digital platforms. Everbloom said its backing will fund the continued growth of Stromedy and Prime Capitol Entertainment, with the firm also joining the company’s executive team to provide strategic and operational support. Brendan Alper, co-founder and chief operating officer of Everbloom, said the company sees potential for Stromedy to help bridge online creator audiences and Hollywood franchise building.
