The meme token rose 6.74% to $0.00000496, while community figures pointed to future work on Shiba Eternity, the metaverse and broader ecosystem rebuilding into 2026.
Shiba Inu marked six years since its Aug. 1, 2020 launch by pseudonymous founder "Ryoshi" as the community celebrated a larger holder base and fresh plans for the ecosystem. The token has surpassed 1.67 million holders after adding 78,977 on-chain holders in July, bringing the total to 1,678,192. The anniversary drew messages from exchanges and community members. LBank is marking the occasion with a $66,666 reward pool that includes $SHIB, BTC, ETH, an iPhone 17 Pro and futures bonuses, while HTX said the project has evolved from a meme into a global movement driven by community, culture and decentralization. Kuro, a long-time Shiba Inu community member, wrote: "Happy 6th birthday, $SHIB. The journey continues." Attention is also turning to what comes next for the ecosystem. Mazrael, a Shiba Inu community veteran, pointed to major updates ahead for Shiba Eternity and the Shiba Inu metaverse, which had been temporarily paused. Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhairya said the project's vision is not dead but has "just been through something hard," adding that 2026 will be about repair, focus and building something that can actually last. $SHIB was up 6.74% over 24 hours at $0.00000496 and had gained 16.66% over the week, though it remains down nearly 95% from its October 2021 all-time high of $0.0000884.
