Monthly volume rose for a fifth straight month as RedotPay led spending and stablecoin-funded card programs posted record usage despite weak crypto trading activity.
Spending on crypto payment cards climbed to a record $748.7 million in July, marking a fifth consecutive monthly increase and extending a run of all-time highs since March, according to onchain analytics tracker Paymentscan. Volume was up 19.1% from June's $628.7 million and 144.7% from $306 million a year earlier, while users made a record 8.77 million transactions from 158,857 active addresses across roughly 20 tracked chains. The growth stands out as one of the few crypto usage indicators reaching new highs while trading volumes remain near multi-year lows, suggesting stablecoin-funded cards are gaining traction for everyday payments independently of broader market activity. Paymentscan said flows into stablecoin neobanks crossed $1 billion in July for the first time, while tracked card spend reached a record high of about $748 million. RedotPay processed $395.1 million in July, accounting for more than half of tracked volume. Ether.fi's Cash card handled $100.3 million and KAST processed $89.6 million, followed by Karta at $58.4 million, Wirex One at $25 million and Tria at $16 million. Smaller programs posted the fastest monthly growth, with Avalanche Card up 71.8% to $2.4 million, Plasma One up 69.1% to $15.2 million and Exa up 52.7% to $2.3 million. The sector also set a single-day record of $36.8 million on July 20, when KAST's $13.6 million exceeded RedotPay's daily volume for the first time during a points promotion ahead of KAST's planned Q4 token generation event. Cumulative deposits into crypto cards crossed $10 billion around July 1, up roughly 82% year-to-date. The expansion has tracked broader stablecoin access since the GENIUS Act became law in July 2025, reinforcing card programs as a direct link between onchain dollars and merchant payments.
