The biopharmaceutical company is building out global business development and U.S. commercialization as multiple registrational Phase III studies advance.
Ascentage Pharma Group International said it has appointed Faiçal Miyara, PhD, as chief business officer, responsible for global business development, and Jim Ziegler as chief commercial officer, responsible for commercialization of the company’s products in the United States and other countries outside China. The two roles create a dedicated U.S. commercialization function under Ziegler and strengthen global business development under Miyara, with both reporting to Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dajun Yang. Miyara brings more than 20 years of oncology business development experience, including senior roles at IO Biotech, Ipsen, Pfizer Inc., ImClone Systems and Eli Lilly and Company. Ziegler has more than 25 years of commercial and operational leadership experience, with roles at Amgen, Gilead Sciences, Iovance Biotherapeutics and Geron, and prior service as an Armor Officer in the U.S. Army. The company said the hires come as multiple global registrational Phase III studies advance and as Ascentage Pharma enters a new phase of global expansion. Ascentage Pharma also outlined its pipeline, including olverembatinib, its first approved product in China, and lisaftoclax, its second approved product in China, along with several ongoing global registrational Phase III trials in hematologic malignancies and other cancers.
