Onchain Lens said the four-year-inactive holder transferred about $46.12 million in bitcoin to a fresh address, with no sign yet of exchange deposits.
A Bitcoin whale that had been inactive for four years moved 730 BTC, worth about $46.12 million, to a newly created wallet, according to Onchain Lens. The transfer drew attention because the coins had been accumulated gradually over seven years and then sat untouched in the same address for a long period. Analysts said the activity may be linked to a recently disclosed security vulnerability in the Coldcard hardware wallet, raising the possibility that long-term holders are shifting funds to more secure storage. There is no evidence so far that the bitcoins were sent to a cryptocurrency exchange, leaving it unclear whether the move was meant for sale or simply for custody protection. The transfer follows another large Bitcoin movement from a wallet that had been dormant for about seven months, when 16,400 BTC worth more than $1 billion was shifted to different addresses.
