The deal gives Orix an entry into aircraft maintenance and parts reuse as supply shortages lift demand for aftermarket services and reusable components.
Japan's Orix Corp. said it will acquire all shares of UK-based AerFin through its aircraft leasing subsidiary in a deal valued at about ¥100 billion, or roughly $637 million, including debt. The acquisition, expected to close by the end of 2026 subject to regulatory approvals, expands Orix beyond aircraft leasing into maintenance and parts supply centered on reusing aircraft components and engines. Founded in 2010, AerFin sells, leases and repairs aircraft, engines and parts, serving more than 600 customers worldwide through capabilities spanning aircraft acquisition, teardown and parts distribution. Orix said the combination will help it maximize aircraft asset values across the full lifecycle, as recovering air travel demand, shortages of new aircraft and replacement parts, and supply chain disruptions increase the importance of the aviation aftermarket.
