Sobi CEO Guido Oelkers to step down by January 2027

The rare-disease biopharma company said its board has started a successor search, while operations, strategy and financial targets remain unchanged.

Swedish Orphan Biovitrum AB (publ), known as Sobi, said Guido Oelkers will step down as Chief Executive Officer after telling the Board of Directors he plans to take another position outside the company. Oelkers will remain in the role until the end of January 2027 at the latest as the board begins a process to manage the transition and appoint a new CEO. Chairman of the board of Directors David Meek said Oelkers leaves the company "well positioned for its next growth chapter" after nearly 10 years of leadership, citing a stronger rare-disease portfolio and solid financial performance. Oelkers, identified as President and CEO of Sobi, said he remains fully committed through the end of his tenure. Sobi said its operations, strategy and financial targets remain unchanged. The company has about 2,000 employees across Europe, North America, the Middle East, Asia and Australia, reported SEK 28 billion in 2025 revenue, and is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm under STO:SOBI.
