June is pitching software to map and remediate the messy legacy systems that often block AI agents from entering real enterprise workflows.
June has emerged from stealth with a $20 million pre-seed round led by Marc Benioff's Time Ventures, as enterprises grapple with a growing obstacle in AI adoption: agents are easy to demo in controlled settings but much harder to deploy inside legacy business systems. The startup says its software scans a company's existing applications and databases to identify duplicate fields, broken process handoffs and permission conflicts, then produces a roadmap to make agent rollouts safer. U.S. mortgage lender CMG Financial used June after its plan to push 100 agents into production stalled on legacy-system complexity, according to chief strategy officer Paul Akinmade. The funding arrives as forward-deployed engineers, or FDEs, become a key bottleneck in enterprise AI implementation, with demand for that talent rising as OpenAI, AWS and other major vendors expand deployment-focused teams.
