The President said Chevron is poised to return to Venezuela on a larger scale and pressed the broader oil industry to pass benefits on to consumers.
President Donald Trump called on oil companies, including Chevron, to immediately lower retail gasoline prices for consumers. BlockBeats reported on August 3 that Trump, citing an interview with Chevron Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mike Wirth, said the oil industry and the US would have collapsed without the Trump administration. He also said Chevron had been forced out of Venezuela and is now set to return on a larger scale, where it stands to make substantial profits. Trump added that the same message applies to other oil companies, saying, "The same goes for other oil companies. Lower retail gasoline prices right now."
